International exchange in theatre for early years

Since 2006, HELIOS Theater is the German partner in the european network project "small size". Back then, seven theatres from seven countries started an exchange about theatre for children from 1-6 years old. In a first and second project ("small size – the net" and "small size – big citizens") the partners successfully developed (co-) productions, organized festivals and held symposia where they discussed cultural political developments and artistic questions together.

Meanwhile, the EU has decided to fund another project: "small size – wide eyes" is running until 2018 and focuses on spreading the experiences in the theatre for early years that the now 17 partners have gathered.

„Woolgathering“

The short documentary follows the HELIOS ensemble's investigation of the material wool and develops its own cinematographic perspective on the material. The focus is not so much on the development of the performance, but on the relationship between material, artists and audience. The film was created by two young filmmakers of Ruhr University Bochum: Stoyan Radoslavov and Damian W. Gorczany.
