The theatre educators at HELIOS Theatre offer preparatory workshops for school classes from the festival towns. The workshops are designed for the plays The Rematch and Binta’s Inner Room and can be flexibly adapted to distance learning or blended models.

The workshop for The Rematch (recommended for years 1-5) is about big and small feelings. What does the statue of the saddest person in the world look like? How do I express happiness with my arms? Where do you look when you are nervous? What colour is anger for you? Through playful improvisation, we attempt to unite movement, feeling and expression.

Binta’s Inner Room (recommended from year 6) is about the brave Binta who, together with her friend Youri, tells of life in a children’s home, of missing her family and of the power of friendship. In the workshop that accompanies the play, we read and question passages from the play together. What makes a good mother? Who causes suffering? And what do you do while you wait? With role play, imagination and self-developed dialogue scenes, we make the content accessible and prepare the audiences for the play.
