Theatre and school – a wealth of opportunities for collaboration is opening up between education and the arts. APPLAUSE! is part of this, and has been for 20 years. Every two years, school theatre groups come to the HELIOS Theater to present their performances and watch other theatre groups’ productions. The aim is to engage in dialogue about theatre work and the differences and similarities in approaches, play selection and staging. In 2026, APPLAUSE! will once again feature original plays on pressing issues, as well as classics of theatre literature that have been adapted for a contemporary audience.
Our thanks go to all the teachers involved, who have dedicated themselves to theatre work with great commitment – often outside of class hours – and have been doing so for many years!

The admission price for each performance block is €2.00 per person. Both individuals and groups are very welcome.

Post-show talks
After each block of performances, there will be post-show discussions about the plays. The performers on stage will talk about their rehearsal process and the audience will have the chance to ask questions. What surprised you? Where did you encounter obstacles? What have you taken away from the experience? Together, we’ll look back on the diverse moments on stage. The discussions will be moderated by the HELIOS Theater team.
