When History Speaks

Drama and Performance, Year 10

In this play, the audience encounters the spirit of Anne Frank, who is unexpectedly granted a glimpse into our modern world. Through brief, everyday scenes, she experiences the present from a new perspective. She is amazed by social developments and, at the same time, unsettled by experiences that seem disturbingly familiar to her.

Past and present enter into a silent dialogue. Anne observes, listens and thereby holds up a mirror to us: where are old patterns repeating themselves in a new guise? The play shows that history is not over, but continues to influence our everyday lives.
