New cooperation with the Märkisches Gymnasium Hamm
Shortly before the summer holidays, we are pleased to announce a new partnership: The HELIOS Theater will be cooperating with the Märkisches Gymnasium Hamm in the future. Together we want to strengthen cultural education and inspire young people to experience the arts.
Cultural participation is also very important at the school. Principal Dr. Bennhardt supports the project with great conviction - in line with the school's educational profile.
Regular visits to the theater as well as personal encounters and discussions between students and artists are planned. We look forward to inspiring exchanges and many shared experiences in the theater!
Cooperation
Arnold- Freymuth- Gesamtschule and HELIOS Theater
In January 2025, Mr. Schiffer and Ms. Paals-Gotthal from Arnold Freymuth Comprehensive School signed a cooperation agreement with theater teacher Christina Stöcker from HELIOS Theater. This partnership aims to deepen the collaboration between the school and the theater and create exciting opportunities for the students.
A central component of the collaboration is regular attendance at theater performances that are not only entertaining, but also thought-provoking and address social issues. These experiences promote an understanding of theater as well as empathy and critical thinking. In addition, a member of staff from the Helios Theater will come to the school once a year to provide insights into current plays and events.
This cooperation is a sign of the importance of cultural education and strengthens the link between school and the arts. It offers pupils the chance to develop their creative talents and actively engage with the world. Overall, the partnership with the Helios Theater promises to be an enriching and inspiring collaboration for the cultural life of the students.
Beisenkamp Gymnasium
In 2016, a cooperation agreement was signed with Beisenkamp Gymnasium in Hamm. All students in grades 5-7 attend an annual performance at the HELIOS Theater.
In the “supplementary theater subject,” grades 5-7 explore acting techniques that they use to work on scenes, stories, and poems. Theater educators offer training courses for teachers of German, English, and French as needed. Click here to visit the Beisenkamp Gymnasium website.
Elisabeth-Lüders-Berufskolleg
In 2017, the HELIOS Theater and the vocational high school Elisabeth-Lüders-Berufskolleg entered into a partnership. All students specializing in health, education, and social services attend a HELIOS Theater production once per school year. This gives students the opportunity to gain their own aesthetic experiences and learn about accompanying children to a performance. The ELBK website can be found here.
St. Michael Gymnasium Ahlen
Making a difference together: Ahlen's St. Michael-Gymnasium cooperates with the HELIOS Theater in Hamm
2023 started directly with a cooperation agreement between St. Michael-Gymnasium and the HELIOS Theater. The aim is to give St. Michael's pupils access to the world of theater in accordance with the school's internal curriculum and to give them an understanding of the aesthetic experience of theater. To this end, the visits are always accompanied by theater pedagogy. The pupils get to know the cultural sector by being given an age-appropriate practical experience through theater tours, reflection discussions or exclusive internships in order to gain a differentiated picture of the diversity of the theater industry.
