"FROM THE BEGINNING"
symposium on early childhood aesthetic education and small international theatre festival

As part of the anniversary year of the city of Hamm, which looks back on its 800-year history, the HELIOS Theatre is forging a bridge to the future: in a two-day symposium in October, we invite you to explore young children‘s access to art.
Theatre performances from Poland, Germany and France serve as inspiration, as do international lectures from educational and cultural researchers and from artists who have years of experience in cultural education for and with young children, aged 0-6.
We look forward to discussing topics such as inclusivity and transculturality in the field of early childhood aesthetic education and the opportunities offered by international networking. Together with teachers, educators, researchers, theatre makers and anyone else who is interested, we want to talk about educating young children in art and theatre, discuss the effects of early exposure to art and share our experiences.
When: Friday, 16 October and Saturday, 17 October 2026
Where: at the HELIOS Theatre in Hamm
The symposium is aimed at anyone involved in art in childhood.
More about the program will be published shortly.
